Son Vida Golf Course

Son Vida Golf

is Majorca's oldest golf course and is one of a clutch of golf courses which makes our sunny island a Mecca for golf enthusiasts from all over the world. Enjoy breathtaking views over the bay of Palma from the wide fairways whilst playing a round on the 18-hole championship course. The greens at this course offer a challenge for both beginners and more experienced golfers. The putting green and pitching area are integrated in the grounds. Enjoy teeing off into wide fairways with breathtaking views situated between tree-lined landscapes and stretching right out to the coast of Palma and heading through the gently undulating grounds with its four pools. The quick greens and water hazards at the 16th and 18th holes present formidable challenges that require a clever game strategy, yet this is a course that can be mastered by golfers of all handicaps.

However this acclaimed 18-hole golf course is perhaps best known for its tricky dogleg and spectacular final hole - a par 5 with a second shot over the water, which is sure to bring out the daring golfer in all players. The first-rate Son Vida golf course was designed in 1964 by Fred Hawtree and redesigned by the golf course architect Kurt Rossknecht in 2001, increasing its level of difficulty and optimising the surfaces for the modern game. A handicap certificate may be required on this golf course. The handicap limit is 36.

Son Muntaner Golf Course

Son Muntaner golf

The modern golf course, designed by the architect Kurt Rossknecht, has been drawing players to its greens since 2000. The professional 18-hole golf course, which may be used by guests of the Castillo Hotel Son Vida, is also home to the Arabella Golf Academy. Instructors at the academy teach in German, English or Spanish and offer courses by the day or the hour. A putting green, pitching area and driving area are all available. There are also a club house with restaurant, a specialist golf equipment shop and large conference rooms (Sa Capitana and Sala Biblioteca) on-site.

The Son Muntaner golf course is surrounded by beautiful pine, almond, carob and olive trees (the thousand-year-old "Sa Capitana" at the 15th hole is the island's most famous olive tree) and lies nestled between the hills of Son Vida and Palma. It offers large greens, and numerous holes have views of the sea and spectacular cliffs. Golf fans will be at one with nature on this 18-hole golf course, which is home to numerous species of birds and a multitude of Mediterranean plants and flowers. The best experience to be had at this club, however, is teeing off before a breathtaking sunset.Golfers will face their first challenge at the first hole, where bunkers make a tricky approach shot over water necessary. True golf fans will enjoy teeing off at the second hole, as very exact positioning is required in order to master the course with its natural landscape. The sprawling greens offer countless different pin positioning options, which means that a game at this course is different every day. A handicap certificate may be required at this course. The handicap limit is 36.

Son Quint

Son Quint Golf

The Son Quint golf course is a first-class hilly course that will undoubtedly thrill golf fans and inspire beginners to reach new golfing heights. Designed by Garden & Golf's Ramon Espinosa, the 18-hole golf course features two elongated ponds and stretches out into the midst of Majorca's spectacular landscape over an area of 6,200 square metres. Thanks to its hills, the course offers breathtaking views of the bustling area around Palma. Imagine playing the 8th hole in front of the backdrop of Palma's beautiful cathedral, whilst pine and olive trees form both obstacles and part of the beauty of the course.

Golf fans will be thrilled by the hilly fairways and long, contoured greens, offering many challenging pin positions and difficult bunkers, whilst four different tee box positions offer a variety of different playing options. The high-quality "Princess Bermuda" grass makes for a soft game and is a lovely brilliant green colour the whole year round.   A handicap certificate may be required at this course. The handicap limit is 36.
